Position Summary:
The Grant Management Team provides research administration support for the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, which includes 7 academic departments, 9 research and extension centers, 6 affiliated centers, and 42 counties located across the state. The CALS team provides proposal support and post-award guidance for nearly 50% of all grant awards to the University of Idaho.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Three (3) years experience in sponsored project management, administration, or support.
- Accounting theory, principals, and practices; computerized accounting systems, developing and monitoring budgets including allocating expenditures and reconciling accounts and projections.
- Fostering cooperation among various levels of an organization, such as investigators, central administration and grant management team.
- Time management experience and meeting deadlines.
- Using computer software and applications for word processing, email, internet searches, statistical analyses, and data organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Formal certification in research administration (Certified Research Administrator, Certified Financial Research Administrator, or Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator).
- Experience in contract and grant administration, including budget development.
- Ability to communicate budgetary details and policies/procedures to faculty and staff.
- Relevant experience working in an institution of higher education.
